Bosu Training

The term Bosu initially came from an acronym "Bionic Oscillatory Stabilization Unit, or "BOth Sides Utilized.”

The BOSU is most commonly is used for balance training and was invented in 1999 by David Weck.

Both sides of the Bosu are used in the training environment at Function & Form. With the inflated rubber hemisphere side uppermost, the BOSU ball provides an unstable surface, while the Bosu itself remains stable. This orientation can be used for all forms of exercise or can be incorporated into athletic drills and aerobic activities.

With the flat side up the Bosu becomes very unstable and is great for retraining balance or developing more complex core exercises.

The variety of stable/unstable makes the Bosu a great addition to fitness and balance training, and is suitable for all ages and abilities ie. young, elderly, elite athletes.

The variety of exercises possible on the Bosu is only limited by the imagination.
